
Mullein is used primarily as an expectorant to clear lung congestion and suppress spasmodic coughs. It also contains mucilage which will help soothe a sore, irritated throat. The leaves may also be smoked to assist bronchial congestion and coughs. Some people have reported success using mullein for asthma. Olive oil infused with mullein flowers has traditionally been used for earaches.
